Affiliate Partner Network

What is Ceres’ Affiliate Partner Network?

While Ceres directly serves Marin and Sonoma counties in Northern California, people across the country and in Denmark receive meals and can volunteer thanks to our Affiliate Partners.

Affiliates have signed a licensing agreement, completed our four-day training, replicated our Healing Meals for Healthy Communities model, and that are actively partnering with us to continue evolving the model through participation in the Affiliate Network.

What do our Affiliates do?

Healing Meals for Healthy Communities is an integrated community-based program that:

  • Supports individuals who are living with a serious health challenge with free, delivered and nutrient-rich prepared meals, nutrition education, and a community of caring.

  • Involves young people as volunteer gardeners and chefs, giving them direct, hands-on experience of the difference that fresh, healthy foods and community make, and of their own capacity to contribute.

  • Educates the broader community about the connection between fresh healthy food, strong social networks, healing and wellness.

  • Connects people of all ages and from all walks of life to one another, and to their value as an integral part of the community.

  • Supports a just and sustainable food system through prioritizing organic and locally raised foods.

Why Become an Affiliate?

Ceres’ is committed to the success of each Affiliate. We provide on-going support and training, and the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from other Affiliates. We help our Affiliate partners develop and grow their programs, define and measure their success, and build effective fund-raising programs to support program sustainability.

Affiliates benefit from ongoing program development work and promotional programs developed by Ceres Community Project such as:

  • Curriculum to support youth development

  • Surveys and evaluation methodologies to evaluate program impact

  • Nutrition education tools

  • Employee manuals and HR policies

How to Become an Affiliate:

1. Assemble Your Team

Put together a team of people who share your commitment to improving the health of your community and who have the skills needed to help launch and run the program.

2. Prepare for Training

When you reach out to let us know you are interested in starting an affiliate, we’ll share our Training Checklist to help you and your team to prepare, so you can be sure to get the most out of the training.

3. Sign the Affiliate Licensing Agreement

We’ll then send you our Affiliate Licensing Agreement to sign. We ask for a small up-front fee ahead of the training and an annual licensing fee.

4.  Schedule Your Training

Our four day Affiliate Training provides an in-depth overview of all aspects of creating and managing the Healing Meals for Healthy Communities model. The training takes place at our headquarters in Sebastopol, California offering a direct experience of the program in action. We strongly recommend you bring at three to four people who represent all the key roles needed for success. Email us at info@ceresproject.org to schedule your training.

5. Launch Your Program

After the training, we’ll work with you on a regular basis to support launch of your program, ideally within two to three months of the training. As part of the Affiliate Network, you’ll be part of regular support and training calls, an annual two-day convening, and most materials and policies we’ve created at Ceres. We look forward to having you and your team join us!
