About Our Classes & Nutrition Programs

Ceres offers a wide variety of classes to support you in making the connection between your health and the food and lifestyle factors that influence it. Currently, we have a variety of terrific online classes available. Post-pandemic, we will return to teaching in-person at our program sites, local health care clinics, and Sonoma and Marin County library branches. New classes are added on a quarterly basis, so please bookmark our calendar or follow us on Facebook.

Eat for Health Classes

with Ceres Community Project

Our Healing Foods Classes will inspire you with educational support, wellness strategies, and cooking demonstrations. Zoom classes are taught by our Nutrition Education Manager, your favorite Ceres’ Chefs, and leading health experts. Class topics include building immunity, reducing inflammation, broths, sauces/dips/spreads/dressing, new ideas for breakfast, lunch and dinners, seasonal eating, and sourdough breads. Enjoy learning about nutrient rich meals, watching a cooking demonstration, and taking home recipes at each class.

Cost:

These classes are offered on a sliding scale, ranging from $0 to $40. Please pay according to your ability. Your generosity helps us provide programming and keep it accessible to everyone, regardless of financial means.



Cooking Dinner Online with Your Clinic

with the Forestville Wellness Center

Join us on Zoom for a group experience where we will learn and watch a cooking demonstration together! This Group Medical Visit is facilitated by Amanda Newman-Crutcher, Ceres’ Nutrition Education Manager and a Medical Provider from the Forestville Wellness Center.

We believe that food is medicine, which can be simple, accessible, nutritious, and contribute greatly to your overall well-being. This 7-week series, offered to West County Health Centers’ patients, will inspire a renewed vision of your health, and provide foundational information on nutrition and how to create new habits, goal setting for success, meal ideas and planning!

How to Register:

You must be a patient at the Forestville Wellness Center to enroll. If you are a patient at this clinic, please call the Forestville Wellness Center for more information and to set up a consultation with your medical provider before enrollment.

Where to View the Current Class list & Dates:

Classes meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month from 5:30pm to 6:45pm.

Cost:

Sliding Scale. The Forestville Wellness Center accepts most insurance, including Medi-Care and Medi-Cal.
